Every time I'm able to squeeze in a trip, I feel incredibly lucky. This year, lucky probably doesn't even come close to describing the travels I've clocked in. Here I'm finally going to sit down and go through all the places I was able to see this year. In summary - a few locations in United States, some familiar and some new; as for the international locales, I managed to travel through ten new countries this year.
Within the United States
In addition to road trips taken all throughout California, from Tahoe to Los Angeles, I was lucky to fly to Portland, Oregon in the beginning of the year, then a brief stint in New York City in the summer, then a trip to Honolulu, Hawaii in the fall.
Checking off North America
In all of my years living in North America, I never yet traveled to our neighboring countries, Mexico and Canada. This year, I was able to tackle Mexico going to Puerto Vallarta early in the year and Canada (twice!) by going to Montreal and Toronto towards the end of the year.
This summer was when I was most on the move. I did an eight country trip through Europe on my own with some portions where I met up with family and friends. I learned so much traveling through eight countries, about other cultures, about taking leaps, and about myself.
The countries that I traveled to:
- Italy (Rome, Florence, Cinque Terre, Milan, Venice)
- France (Paris)
- Switzerland (Interlaken and Zermatt)
- Greece (Mykonos)
- Austria (Salzburg)
- Slovenia (Lake Bled)
- Croatia (Zagreb)
- Germany (Munich and Frankfurt)
Can't wait for you, 2015
2014 was a whirlwind of travels mixed with crazy life events. I traveled to my heart's content and hold so many memories from this year near and dear to me. I finished my Master's degree and started at a job in Silicon Valley tech that I absolutely love. And the biggest trip of all - I flew to Toronto to pick up this little nugget of mine.
I've got lots of crazy travel plans for 2015 up my sleeve. Stay tuned!
